Welcome to WINLab

The Wireless Information Networking Lab (WINLab) was founded in 2005 at the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Yeungnam University. Yeungnam University is a private research university, located in Gyeongsan city, North Gyeongsang Province, Republic of Korea. The predecessors of the univeristy, Taegu College and Chunggu College, were founded in Daegu in 1947 and 1950 respectively. In 1972, the university's new main campus opened in Gyeongsan-si, a city east of Daegu.

WINLab is headed by Professor Kim Sung Won, who has an extensive academic and industrial experience. He has supervised a diverse team of researchers with multi-disciplinary reasearch interests in their doctoral and master program. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Department of Control and Instrumentation Engineering, Seoul National University, Korea, in 1990 and 1992, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, Seoul National University, Korea, in August 2002. From January 1992 to August 2001, he was a Researcher at the Research and Development Center of LG Electronics, Korea. From August 2001 to August 2003, he was a Researcher at the Research and Development Center of AL Tech, Korea. From August 2003 to February 2005, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Florida, Gainesville, USA. In March 2005, he joined the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Yeungnam University.
